An old worn office chair revived by Chickens!

I upholstered my old worn typist chair which I sit on whilst rug hooking during the warmer weather in The Summer House which is at the end of our garden. The chair was looking very jaded....so I found some wonderful gingham fabric, on which a cockerel motif had been embroidered, and used it to cover the worn fabric beneath!

The cushion on the ottoman was progged with hemp fabric. In the centre of this cushion is an antique piece of Indian embroidery.

  1. What s great idea! Although the office chairs are so comfortable and practical they are also very ugly. I've often thought of making a slipcover for mine, but never did. Yours looks fabulous and goes so well with your chicken theme.

  2. Great Idea, Jill, but those chickens are taking over the world!

  3. Those chooks are everywhere! Seriously Jill, I think manufacturers should take note - your chair cover would brighten up offices everywhere! Including mine! (Office? Spare room? Studio? Workroom? Glory Hole? Tip?) And I really like the idea of surrounding a precious small piece of fabric with progging - an idea which I unashamedly copied - but of course did mention whose idea it originally was.

  4. Whoops - forgot to sign my last comment - one day I shall learn how to do this properly.

  5. And I forgot to mention that I was the very lucky recipient of a needlecase/bag made from the same fabric. Thank you Jill. It's great and much admired at Threadbreakers last week.
